TRANSATLANTIC HOTEL GÖYNÜK(QUEEN ELIZABETH HOTEL) - 2007

About Project

The Queen Elizabeth Hotel was opened in May 19, 2007 in Göynük, Kemer, Antalya. It was created by the architect of the hotel, Master Architect, Hızır Çelikkanlı in a pleasant and exciting design process that lasted for many months. All the required items were used in this project. The main concept was to form the hotel and all the land around as a marina with ships that are anchored in this marina. It was established on the idea to provide a pleasant and unforgettable holiday for the guests which is also the main aim of the hotel. Within the frame of this main concept, the entry to the main hotel which is the biggest ship between the smaller ships that are anchored in the marina as the front part of the ship is surrounded by the pool that provides a complete sea ambiance. Thus the entrance was enabled via a large gate, having a pool on both sides, which resembles a life like ship.

The pool, surrounds half of the front part of the ship of 3.5 decares, faces a la carte restaurants, open restaurant and lobby in the marina. A real sea ambiance will be created with the wave machines which will be used.

As there is a lighthouse at the end of most ports and there is a lighthouse at the end of this port too and at the same time it was designed as the aqua park of the hotel. The prow of the biggest ship, which is main building, has a complete curtain wall and its exterior is covered with composite panels for the appearance of a real ship. Also the other ships at anchor resemble lake villas. The villas, which are completely in the pool, were designed like smaller ships. The main concept was followed in all the interior decoration, hotel rooms, in all the interior and exterior spaces and some fascinating work was created.

The hotel’s architectural project, its initial ideas, its form and the total concept comes from Hızır Çelikkanlı. The idea for the main management concept also belongs to project architect, which is a ship that undertakes virtual cruising in a sailing party atmosphere during its route to many countries over the normal holiday period of 2 weeks.

This hotel also provides a great platform to support worldwide projects all the time and to represent Turkey at its best in the international arena after Sinan The Architect which is the major aim of Hızır Çelikkanlı, the principal architect.

The hotel was named after Queen Elizabeth, the Queen of England and she was invited for the hotel’s opening via applications to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism. Plus this hotel provided a great support for the idea to produce worldwide projects all the time and to represent Turkey at its best in the international arena after Sinan The Architect which is the major aim of Hızır Çelikkanlı, the principal architect.
